Wheatley’s Building
- Estimated start: Summer of 2026
- 18 months of construction anticipated
The 1980’s addition to the east side of the building will be removed due to poor condition; and the roof, front and west side walls will be rebuilt due to water damage and need to redesign the roof to properly handle water going forward. In addition, the existing back of the building will be converted into a second “front”, with the main entrance to the future restaurant being from this “front”. Outdoor seating will be added to the new “front” as well. The redesign is being done in part to improve the appearance from Northeastern as people enter town, and also to allow better access from the new parking area proposed behind the existing white house which fronts on Northeastern. As a part of the creation of the parking area, the parcel with the house is also being remodeled to restore that home to its look prior to the abandoned dentist office being added after the home was relocated from its original location on the bank property. As a part of this project the home and metal accessory building across the alley East of Wheatleys is also to be remodeled.
