New Festival/Park Area

In partnership with Indy Parks, the design is almost ready for release to the public to hopefully begin the process of completing a new “center” for events and community enjoyment on this undeveloped area.

Wheatley’s Building

Estimated start: Summer of 2026 18 months of construction anticipated The 1980’s addition to the east side of the building will be removed due to poor condition; and the roof, front and west side walls will be rebuilt due to water damage and need to redesign the roof to properly handle water going forward. Remodel of Mac’s Barbershop Building

Status: 99% complete In the process of being sold to a Franklin Township family who is committed to being a part of the revitalization of Wanamaker.

Parking Lots

Status: Completed New parking lots and proper storm water drainage improvements were installed on the Civic League property, the Mac’s Building, and the new public parking lot west of the warehouse on the Mac’s building. Indy Cylinder Head – Original Building

Status: Completed The 4 car garage located south of the old schoolhouse was the place where Indy Cylinder Head started. That building was in poor shape but was still sound. The exterior has been completely restored.

Residential Projects

There are two homes owned by the Trust. The black, one-story home has had the entire exterior redone, and the other home has been remodeled inside and out, including adding a new master suite. Construction will be done in Spring 2026, and homes will be sold as owner-occupied residences only. Check back for updates.
